Podcasts

These things are popping up everywhere, and I don't quite grasp the name. I know it comes from the iPod terminology, but a "Podcast" is no different than any other mp3 you would rip from a CD or download. Why should it be inherently related to an iPod when there is no relation?

Okay, my rant's over.

Unfortunately, Apple is a "victim" of it's own success.

They are prolifiting Ipod as if it's the best things since sliced bread.

Apple just packages other ideas already implemented (like HD mp3 player, or pay/download service for music) and makes them more marketable to the "hip" crowd. Nintendo kind of does the same thing, now that I think of it: people thought they "invented" the analog control stick; even their new Revolution controller uses sensors already used to some limited in extent in other controllers, but perhaps they'll use it better.

Apple is getting further annoying, because I can only watch trailers in .mov format mostly, and I can only download Apple's "quicktime" (which is crap to begin with) with "Itunes". I don't need their crap on my computer. Ah well :)

I don't mind iTunes, I've used it before and it's not a bad player, but you're right about them not really being innovative, they've just done the marketing really well.
