I just heard that odds makers in Vegas are giving 10-1 odds that the world will end tomorrow. For those that haven't noticed, tomorrow will be 06/06/06.
Anyone who would seroiusly place a bet on this should immediately be locked up for the safety of the rest of society. People that dumb are a threat to us all. Talk about a lose-lose situation.

1) Heh, exactly. That's why it's such a lose-lose. I can see it now, some guy will be sitting on his porch watching the 20-mile wide comet about to crash into his backyard thinking "WOOHOO, I won!"

A few years ago (maybe 10) we had a comet pass by the earth. A group of religious, uh...nuts took this as a sign that a spaceship, piloted by Jesus Christ was coming to take them home and the earth was to be destroyed, so they killed themselves.
Need I say more?
Heh, I haven't needed further proof that humans are gullable in a long time. I just enjoy pointing it out :)
